Nebraska Department of Education- Initial Teaching Permit #2015009001
Endorsements: English 7-12
My name is Raeanna "Rae" Carlson (Carbaugh), and I have been teaching for five years.
I graduated with a BSE from Peru State College in May of 2015 and began my teaching
career at Niobrara Public Schools as the 9-12 ELA teacher that fall. Apart from my
classroom duties, I have been the one act and speech coach all five years. In May
of 2019, I graduated with my MSE with an emphasis in English education because I wanted
to offer dual credit to my high school students. To my surprise, that same day, the
love of my life proposed to me in a cheesy, romantic way, and a little over a year
later, we were married. We have one cat named Inya and a dog named Charley. My hobbies
and interests span a plethora of topics such as literature, music, cooking, and movies,
but ultimately, I like to think of myself as a big nerd who just enjoys what she likes.
As an educator, I firmly believe that every student has the ability to succeed when
the barriers to that success are removed, so students can challenge themselves to
step beyond their comfort zone. I work diligently to build relationships with students
and enjoy getting to know them on a level beyond knowing their name. Education is
a true passion of mine, and I, along with my students, will continue to grow and learn.
